Does anyone online care anymore about the real thing? I mean real brick and mortar gambling establishments. Is anyone still fascinated with the glitter and glitz of Las Vegas if they have no impending trip planned? Personally, I think the new online gaming establishments may be affecting that jolt of adrenalin that flows through all souls landing at McCarran International. Well, maybe not the under 21 souls who have now claimed their own spot in Las Vegas Land. Their parents bring them for a grand time after they’ve tired of dragging the tots to Disney. Now they swim in make believe oceans or lazy rivers at places like Mandalay Bay. There are rides, shows, history lessons, architectural wonders and more. This you can’t do online.

But still, for he or she that longs to wager a bet either solo or in a group, the Internet is far cheaper to travel to. The cost of an airplane ride (or even a full tank of gas) is greater than a flight up the stairs. In fact, take away the bills for travel, lodging, food and entertainment for the whole family and you’ve got a nice little kitty to play with. Never mind that the family is whining about their loss of a vacation.

Well, I don’t know. I’m still in favor of the real thing. Yes it is an effort to get to a resort – Nevada or elsewhere. Yes it’s expensive to travel and stay. But this is about memories. Even if you go alone, it’s about your experience of sights, sounds, and touch. Well all the senses. That’s far more potent than a monitor and keyboard. Win or lose, you are bound to have some fun doing it on a vacation. You’ll change the routine. You’ll be a social animal just by virtue of walking through a casino or a racetrack, interacting with cashiers, wait staff, other gamers, etc.

So when the time comes to find that casino, check the web for sites that help you locate one near you. Some of these can help determine where, if any, places of gaming or betting are in relation to your home, motel or hotel while on the road or wherever you find yourself. Put in your location, insert how far (miles) you are willing to travel to find a casino and let the search function help you locate the closest casinos. You’ll have a map of the one(s) you pick too. Now there’s an adventure far better than a trip upstairs. Get out there and do the real thing!

Juliette Carlotta is a prodigious writer who has a knack for understanding human nature. Here she discusses the pros and cons of gaming online vs. going to a real casino to place to wager. Her recommendation? Find a casino. Try visiting http://www.closestcasino.com to see what she is talking about.
