NBA December Schedule Imbalances

As the month of December is upon us, there are five NBA clubs with schedule discrepancies that are of betting interest.

The Boston Celtics play only five home games and ten on the road! On December 4th they embark on a five game road trip at New York, finishing up at Dallas on the 10th. That’s five games in a seven day period! Then on the 26th they start another five game road trip at Seattle. That ends on January 2nd at Denver. That’s five games in eight days! This club could very well be a tired and spent unit as the New Year approaches.

The Los Angeles Lakers have six home games, while ten are on the road. They start their second longest road trip of the season at Milwaukee on the 6th, finishing up at Memphis on the 14th. That’s six games over a nine day period! They went 1-4 straight up and against the spread on a four game road trip in November earlier. Once again we may have a very tired unit during this stretch.

The Miami Heat will have six match ups at home and ten on the road. From November 30th through December 17th, they play nine of eleven on the road, including a possible “NBA Finals” preview with the San Antonio Spurs on the 7th. A Christmas day home match up with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers is also on tap.

The Orlando Magic have some home cooking as nine home games versus only four on the road are scheduled. Their longest home stand of the season begins on the 19th with Toronto. With visits from New Jersey, the L.A. Lakers, Milwaukee, New York, and Minnesota on the 30th. That’s a two week stretch at home during the holiday, so we may see a relaxed bunch ready to take advantage and ride a winning streak.

The Seattle Sonics have the most December home games with ten. Five road match ups are sprinkled throughout. Four of their home opponents will be coming in with 0 days rest! Those include Houston on the 15th, Washington on the 19th, Dallas on the 23rd and Memphis on the 31st! The Sonics have a losing record at home against the spread thus far. But they may make a move here and are a team to look at.

Hopefully we have found a few stocking stuffers here to keep an eye out for.
