This tremendous run actually dates back to last season, as VT is now 16-3 (ATS) its past nineteen and 14-4 (ATS) its past eighteen as chalk. The Hokies need a win today against the Tarheels to claim a spot in the ACC Championship and will hope either USC slips vs. UCLA or Texas gets dehorned in the Big 12 Championship to earn a shot at the Big Enchilada in Pasadena.

Irish Out of Luck on the Farm? Kudos to Charlie Weis and Notre Dame, as they have been absolutely fantastic this year despite arguably the toughest schedule in the country. The Irish are now 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS overall, including a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS away from South Bend. Ballooning imposts by the oddsmakers have thwarted the luck of the Irish in recent weeks though, as ND has dropped two in a row at the ticket window despite winning those tilts by 21 and 24 points. This may be trouble down on the Farm against the smoke and mirror act of Stanford. The Cardinal has been outgained in all but one of its games this season, yet is a formidable 6-2 ATS its past eight and 6-1 ATS when priced as an underdog.

Bee in the Yellow Jackets Bonnet … The Yellow Jackets stole the Hurricanes thunder last Saturday with a stunning 14-10 upset at the Orange Bowl. But if history is any indication, the flighty Yellow Jackets celebration will be short lived. GT has yet to cover in consecutive games this season and has been a proverbial money-burner at Bobby-Dodd Stadium, where host has dropped nine of its past eleven. This is seriously bad news against a Georgia outfit that is 6-1 ATS in its past seven trips to Atlanta.

A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing? Fresno State’s near miss at USC (led 42-41 midway through fourth) proved yet again that Pat Hill is one of the best coaches in college football. The tough as nails coach will have his work cut out to get his team “up” tonight though, after playing its two biggest games in school history in consecutive weeks (FSU ended BSU’s 31-game WAC winning streak prior to game at USC). This could be problematic matched up against NFL caliber QB Rowe and Nevada’s home loving “pistol” attack. The Wolfpack, who are just a half game back of Fresno in WAC standings, are 12-3 ATS their past fifteen at Mackay Stadium and can clinch share of the conference title with a win.
