Morning in Huancayo, Perú (Tuesday Morning, 10/19/05)

The clouds bubble up along the rim of the Mountains of Mantaro Valley,— Children running to and from, in their

Blue and white Halls—of their school...

The maid pounds on the door below, as I look out the Window—breathing in the chilled morning , the

October air, in Huancayo.

The dogs are barking here and there, everwhere, on Roof tops: sounds, sights, images all about...

As I stare out this window—;

Just a glance, not much: thus, what more has life Got to offer (?) it’s 8:15 AM. Pigeons flying to and

Fro, as if they have some place to go.

A man below me, under this window, has mixed Some cement, making a stairway, for a resident—

What does the rest of this day have to offer (?)
