Restoring old family photographs can easily be done from our own personal computers these days. Years back, prior to Photoshop CS, we had to take the old black-and-white images to the lab for restoration. The process of restoring old memoirs was much of a mystery; but today, children can do it. Photoshop CS is an amazing piece of software. It has so many capabilities and special effects. Each family can have their own master photographer and fix up all those old photographs. You can crop, clone, rotate, enhance, change tones and values, and much, much more!

As time passes and our world and belongings age and oxidize right along with us, we have choices to make in how we deal with this. We have the ability to personally reformat all of our old, priceless family keepsake photographs. After we restore them in Photoshop CS and reprint them, now we can store them in acid-free albums. If you don't take care of this, the photographs will continue to deteriorate beyond repair. Gradually, the photographs will fade away right along with the memories of our beloved ancestors.

I not only have some of my ancestor's wedding photographs, I have some of their cameras too! I even have my old Twin Lens from when I first started out as a professional free-lance photographer. Call me sentimental, but I think some of these old-dated items create great accent pieces in home decor and can bring a warm atmosphere into the home.
