Children of the Mountains

Up the stairs and down the street The children from the mountains

Go on silent feet— Looking for the culprits Who gave them poisoned meat...!

And crying from their ghostly graves “Twenty-four dead they say,”

(24-died that way; in l999) As now, their parents parade For justice!...on Peruvian streets.

Note: in l999, 24-children were poisoned, and died by bad food they had ate, and the culprits have to this date (10/22/2005) have not been brought to justice by the Peruvian authorities. Thus, this poem is dedicated to those children and their parents. #903 Notes:
