ONE DAY WE HAD TEA
A FRIEND AND ME.
A CUP OF HOT TEA
I PLACED BEFORE HIM
ALONG WITH HOMEMADE SCRONES.
BUT HE SAID THIS TEA IS TOO HOT FOR ME
I SAID I GET ANOTHER RIGHT AWAY
HE WAS NOT BEING MEAN TO ME
HE JUST WANTED TEA.
I REAPPEARED IN WINK
A CUP OF COOLER TEA
I PRODUCED RIGHT QUICK
BUT HE SAID THIS IS TOO COLD
TO PUT UPON MY TONGUE.
I SAID I GET ANOTHER RIGHT AWAY
HE WAS NOT BEING MEAN TO ME
HE JUST WANTED TEA.
I HEATED THE TEA
HE SAID IT WILL HAVE TO DO
BUT THESE SCRONES ARE CHEWY
AND YOU ONLY GAVE ME TWO.
I SAID I GET ANOTHER RIGHT AWAY
HE WAS NOT BEING MEAN TO ME
HE JUST WANTED TEA.
I HURRIED TO THE KITCHEN
AND PUT TOGETHER MY BEST BATCH
TO PRODUCE SUCH SCRONES
THAT WOULD KNOCK HIS TASTEBUDS FLAT
I SET THEM BEFORE HIM
STACK HIGH UPON A SILVER TRAY
HE SAID THESE ARE TOO FATTENING
AND WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME
YOU POLISHED YOUR TRAY.
THROUGH SEETHING ANGER
I KNEW VERY WELL
THAT HE WAS NOT PURPOSELY BEING MEAN
THAT HE JUST WANTED TEA.
I NEVER DREW THE LINE
I NEVER SAID ENOUGH, ENOUGH
THIS WAS ALL UNNECESSARY
JUST BECAUSE HE WANTED TEA.
