In the Phoenix, Arizona area there has been much outcry over the traffic light cameras, which take pictures of you if you run a red light. This often causes motorists to panic and slam on the breaks if they see a yellow light. Once they do this they are rear ended by people who do not expect them to stop, but rather make it thru the yellow and the next two cars behind them. Actually none of the following three cars intend on stopping behind the scaredy cat law abiding, doesn’t want to have to go to traffic school motorist who slams on their breaks so hard everyone in the cars swears they will never drive with them again. And just as the passengers in the first car finish that thought someone slams into them so hard from behind that the passengers may never get the chance anyway?

So much for public safety, but in Scottsdale Arizona, they say, these are our lights and we want to raise revenue with less cost of uniform officers on the streets, so they do not seem to care. Sound just wonderful doesn’t it? Well it gets worse, now they wish to put cameras to catch speeders on the freeway (Loop 101) that goes thru the town and then mail your cars registration owner a ticket. The system goes into effect early 2006, next year. The Scottsdale's City Council voted Tuesday to approve the use of this high-tech system to be put on the over passes. Big brother is watching, so you will have to slow down, causing even more traffic jams, tailgaters and pileups? Oh wonderful, what will they think of next. Oh you better not think about it, as the thought police are already on the way.
