The fastest growing online Indian Real Estate portal, Makaan.com, today launched India's first online property rating system (check www.makaan.com/makaanrating). This unique feature allows million of property seekers to rate the properties on the basis of usefulness of the listings. The system is completely automated and works on the basis of user inputs. A regular online property search normally results into hundred of matching properties and seekers may not have the time to contact all the sellers. This is where Makaan rating will help; it will put them in touch with advertisers that have displayed correct information, making the property search faster & sharper.

Over period of time, sellers who furnish correct information will be able to sell their property faster. With nearly 40 thousand Indian Property classifieds in newspapers and about 7.5 lac property listings online, there lacked an appropriate evaluation process to assess the genuineness of the displayed information. This initiative by Makaan.com is expected to set a benchmark for the validation process of property listings. As the system is based on personal experiences of buyer with the property sellers, it is neutral and not influenced by the portal. The system works on a star-rating format, higher the number of stars against the listing, higher is the correctness of it's information.
