You can trust me that I make sure to take care to have as EnergyRich™ a vacation as possible (why come back from vacation feeling bloated, a few pounds heavier, experiencing heartburn etc, right?) and wanted to share one of my favorite recipes to help make that happen!

First you need to be ready to ... Bring Your Own – don’t panic. I’m not talking EVERYTHING, but I am suggesting you consider the basics. Let’s face it: Rest Stops, Airports, Train Stations, and Tourist Destinations do not necessarily have your best energy in mind. They generally are looking to make the most for their dollar. This is fine, but why should your body have to pay the price? So what to do? A recipe option to help you “Bring Your Own”:

Toasted Spiced Walnuts

2 cups walnuts

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2
teaspoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon walnut oil

Instructions

1. Plunge walnuts into a pot of boiling water, turn off pot and let stand 2 minutes.

2. Drain and spread walnuts on a baking sheet and toast in a 400F oven for 10 minutes.

3. Measure seasonings in a bowl and stir.

4. Heat oil in a skillet.

5. Add toasted nuts and toss 1 minute.

6. Add seasoning and toss until nuts are coated.

7. Cool on a paper towel.

8. Pack Snack Bags

9. Bring ‘em with you!

To Your Health and Success, Heather
