What is Jin Shin Jyutsu? Jin Shin Jyutsu translates into "the creator's art through knowing and compassionate man." An ancient art of bringing harmony to mind, body and spirit through gentle touch, Jin Shin Jyutsu is a form of non-massage Shiatsu. Developed in Japan by Jiro Murai, Jin Shin Jyutsu uses 26 pressure points, also known as energy locks. The theory behind Jin Shin Jyutsu is that fatigue, illness and/or tension has the capability of trapping energy in these varying pressure points.
How does Jin Shin Jyutsu work? Jin Shin Jyutsu is practiced to bring harmony to the flow of the body's energy. Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioners use therapies such as gentle and prolonged manual depressing on energy locks; or similar to energy healing, may move his hands across pressure points without any contact.
Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions typically may last up to an hour, and begins with the practitioner listening to the pulse. In doing so, Jin Shin Jyutsu practititioners can learn information about current energy flows
of his/her client. In Jin Shin Jyutsu, the goal is not diagnosing; rather, it is focused on harmonization. The practitioner's hands are often referred to as the "jumper cables" to recharging energy to the "battery of life."
Overall, Jin Shin Jyutsu is a practice that allows the universal energy to flow freely and revitalize natural healing abilities. To learn more about Jin Shin Jyutsu, please visit our practitioner and healing arts schools' directories today for updated listings at Holistic Junction.
