A growing field of dramatically successful therapies is emerging. Known as Meridian Energy Therapies, they can have acronyms such as TFT, TAT, and EFT. If this sounds a bit like alphabetti spaghetti to you, read on, and I will explain what they’re about.

How did it start?

Originated by Roger Callahan, who wrote a book called Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Callahan was interested in the acupuncture meridians and discovered, quite by chance that tapping with fingers on certain acupuncture points seemed to relieve a client of a long-held water phobia. He continued to experiment and developed TFT. Many of the simpler Energy Therapies were developed by students of TFT.

How does it work?

The truth is, no-one knows exactly how it works, we just know it does! MET is based upon the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system can have a profound effect on a person’s psychology. Feeling an unwanted negative emotion causes the energy flow in the body (the meridian) to be disrupted. Correcting these balances is done by tapping on certain points on the meridians with two fingers, whilst simultaneously thinking or feeling the negative emotion. The

method is very simple and can be taught to people to use for themselves.

What can be treated?

It can be applied to all negative emotions such as anger, resentment, sadness, guilt, grief and even depression. It is also effective for treating anxiety disorders such as panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and even post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

What are the benefits?

  • It’s simple, quick to learn and anyone can use it
  • There is no painful reliving of past events
  • It doesn’t take months of therapy
  • You don’t need to have a therapist do it – you can clear you own problems once you know how.
Meridian Energy Therapies are set to take the therapy world by storm.
