Are you one of those people who puts a lot of energy into pumping iron in order to have the perfect body? Do you obsessively spend time at the gym toning up those quads, triceps, hamstrings, abs, etc? Are you constantly trying to look "built" in order to feel good or attract a mate?

Well if this describes how you spend a great deal of your time and energy then once you attract that mate what more is there to you that allows you to sustain that relationship? Well, you might say that a long term relationship is actually not what you're looking for and that it's really just about the sex.

Well if that is so, how satisfying does that feel to you at the end of the day? You probably have never actually stopped to consider that have you? If you do I think you will likely find that you feel, that is if you feel anything at all, a sense of emptiness in this routine of yours.

What do you do about those uncomfortable feelings of emptiness? Well you likely try to distract yourself from them by putting in time at the gym. The fear of feeling your feelings likely keeps you on the body building treadmill all the while seducing you into the belief that somehow your life is going to feel more fulfilling this way.

Isn't part of what makes an individual feel fulfilled the ability to experience a deeper level of intimacy with another individual? Doesn't this require the ability to feel one's feelings and to share them openly with a partner? Well how is one to accomplish this if one is obsessively trying to avoid them? The fact is that it never happens unless one has the courage to reconnect with the feelings that live within them.

The feelings I'm referring to are those that emerge from and live in the human heart. Feelings of love, joy, compassion, inner peace, esteem for one's self, a sense of self worth, contentment, happiness and occasionally sadness.

These feelings are what make you human, are they not? If you are not experiencing them then what kind of relationship are you attempting to cultivate? A physical one? If so, then where are you in all of this?

Well I'm going to say something that may surprise you. When you are not connected to your heart in the way I described above then you are really not present within your body. This feeling of not being present is related to the feeling of emptiness I described above. Yes, it means that your body is missing something, you!

This emptiness is also associated with feelings of inadequacy because that is what your body feels without you in it, inadequate. You probably think that the way to remedy this is to build your body don't you? Well stop for a moment and feel, after all the body building that you've done, whether that empty feeling is still there or not. It probably didn't make a dent in it did it?

If you are with me so far and would like to "build" your body with what really counts then feel free to download a free audio clip I have prepared for you at the web link below.
