Are you tired of traveling to the gym every day or two and having to wait your turn to use the treadmills? Or maybe it is the gym membership fees that you despise paying every month. So, have you ever considered building your own gym at home?
I know I just talked about the cost of gym membership fees, and the cost of building a home gym can be expensive, but there are options online where you can get very good quality exercise equipment at reasonable prices.
To build your home gym you will need some of the following basic equipment:
Treadmill – When looking for a treadmill compare different brands and their prices. Treadmills have ratings that will give you information on quality and on shock absorption, as well as cushioning and warranties. Using the ratings is a good way to compare the best selling treadmill models.
A treadmill is one of the best pieces of exercise equipment and can be used by people of all fitness levels. So getting a good treadmill is a good place to start when building your home gym.
Exercise Bike – An exercise bike is also a very good piece of equipment to have for your home gym, and they can usually be purchased at a reasonable price. These are very easy to use and require little coordination, so are
very good for beginners as
well as for people with more fitness experience.
As opposed to going outside on a pushbike, an exercise bike can be ridden comfortably inside your home even when it is pouring rain outside. You don’t
need to wear a helmet or worry about flat tires!
Home Gym Weight System – To build strength and muscles you may want to get a weight system for your home. You will need to have a reasonable size space for your gym, and you should have a power rack, a strong bench, a calf block, dipping bars, dumb bells, cast iron weights and a seven foot barbell.
These basic pieces of equipment will give you everything that you need for your home fitness program. A power rack is a key component of your gym as it allows you to do bench press exercises and squats. The barbell and cast iron
weights are also essential.
Setting up your home gym can be a little expensive up front, but in the long term you will save money by not having recurring gym membership fees. Once you have the equipment it is yours for life, and if you purchase good quality equipment, it will last for many, many years.
