Each morning when you rise from your bed decide that this day will be a good one. This does not mean that nothing untoward will happen to you, it only means that you have made the personal choice of how you will handle each situation as it arises. There will definitely be times when your anger is aroused and probably rightly so, but your reaction is entirely up to you.
Think how negatively your family and associates must feel about you when you have frequent temper tantrums and become aggressive and even violent in every situation that angers you. People will begin to avoid being in your company as they will not always feel like listening to your angry comments. They will be scared to discuss any subject that might annoy you and trigger off a violent anger attack. This is not acceptable social behaviour.
An angry parent in the home is very detrimental to the mental health of the children. They will grow up fearing a parent or some one that is in authority. They will lack self confidence and be fearful human beings. This, I am sure is not the way you would want the world to see you. Only you can change yourself. There is a saying that if you want others to change you must first change yourself and then you will be amazed to see how others around you have seemed to change as well.
Anger that is directed at someone specific is actually a wish that some form of harm would come to that person. In
the mind of the angry person they would like to make the person who antagonised them suffer for what they did. In their anger they will physically attack and hurt the person that they are cross with. They could even damage their property as well to make sure the person knows how they feel about them. Such behaviour is totally unacceptable and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
It is not a good thing on the other hand to always suppress your anger. People who are inclined to do this are know to periodically have outbursts of anger which can be quite horrific. By suppressing your anger you are not making it go away. It will be there waiting to expose its self as soon as you have one confrontation too many. Normally people who have this problem say that when they eventually get angry there is no stopping their anger. This is an unhealthy situation.
It is a good thing to keep your emotions well balanced. There is a time to get annoyed about things and express your displeasure without displaying a violent temper or rage. People who never express their anger in any way are not doing it because they want to keep the peace it is because they are either introverts or not interested enough in the subject to express their opinion.
Many times it is the fear of rejection from a loved one that makes you suppress your desire to express your opinion. You are scared of showing them that they have annoyed you.
