There are many free sauna information available from the internet on sauna benefits. Some of us limit sauna benefits to pure relaxation and to relieve stress. There are in fact many other sauna benefits. Some also seek free sauna information on whether sauna is actually hazardous. There are concerns on whether sauna is suitable for those who are pregnant and with high blood pressure or if there sauna benefits for people in these two categories.

According to a holistic practitioner, Dr. Andrew Weil, if you're in reasonable health, then sauna benefits are great. However, if you belong to the two categories of people mentioned above, you may want to get more information with your physicians first.

The first of these sauna benefits has to do with our skin being the largest organ of the body. When in a sauna, the heat in the sauna pumps up our blood circulation and this in turn stimulates sweating. There are those who said that a proper sauna will generate a quart of sweat per hour. Sweating helps the body to execrate from itself toxin materials and improves blood circulation.

In sauna, it is mostly the temperature of the skin surface that goes up. As this temperature increases, blood vessels will dilate. This dilation causes blood circulation in the skin rises. Blood pressure will goes down due to resistance to blood flow. Heartbeat increases to maintain the normal blood pressure. Therefore, those with low blood pressure should take sauna slowly.

However, there is a warning to those who likes to take alcohol in sauna. Low blood pressure and excessive alcohol certainly does not mix well with the sauna. Free sauna information obtained from the internet has found that alcohol induced significantly greater blood pressure drop, and this may be injurious to some people, especially to those with heart disease.

Another common question about sauna benefits is whether it helps to lose weight. Free sauna information that we obtained shown that sauna does help to burn calories. When in sauna, the increased cardiac output make the body uses its resources. Its estimates of 300 to 500 calories burnt per 30 minutes, which is equivalent to walking or jogging. However, we need to mention that it is only the heart muscle that is working in sauna.

One additional sauna benefits is the cleansing the body from toxins. While this is unconfirmed, this seems more of due to the process of sweating, rather than from the sauna per se.

The main risk of a sauna is staying in too long and fainting from overheating. People who are most susceptible to this are those with heart disease or who have been using drugs or alcohol. It really isn't a good idea to combine drinking or other drugs with a sauna or hot tub. Children should not use saunas without supervision.

One last information about sauna, be sure you drink plenty of water, to replace the water you're losing.

Please always consult with your physician for more information related to sauna benefits. If you do not feel comfortable in a sauna, maybe you should do without it. This free sauna information is provided for educational purposes only.
