Home Based Business article : A Little Selection Can Equal Big Cash

Home Based Business > A Little Selection Can Equal Big Cash

Am I the only one that has been programmed over the years to believe that “Bigger Is Always Better”. Well that may be true in many instances, but it is not necessarily true, when it comes to the online business you get involved with.

I was recruited into a well known network marketing business about a year ago and one of the main selling points that seemed to make sense was that the business had such a large selection of products. How could you fail to sell products with an almost infinite number of products to choose from? How could you not be able to recruit members when you could brag that the company had the largest selection of any other network marketing company?

Well, I did fail to sell and I did fail to recruit. I’ll admit that much of it was my own fault. The business only allowed recruiting through phone calls and cornering people in the mall and bookstore, which is not my cup of tea.

Each and every time I went searching for another business, that fit my personality, someone convinced me to stay, and one of the arguments was “It’s BIGGER than all the others”. But as I continued to search for another opportunity for myself, I began to discover that many people were making large amounts of money in companies that offered very few products. Boy did that blow away my preconceived ideas.

As I researched, I began to see why smaller selections were doing just as well and even better than the larger selections. First of all the company I was with was restricting my recruiting methods. I could recruit through personal contact only. No search engines, no

online or offline ads, no submitting of articles. It’s almost Stone Age to not allow someone to recruit through online methods.

If a company has a few products to sell, but you can market to the online masses, to me that is a better combination than having a massive inventory and just one marketing method.

Secondly, I began to see, that yes the other company had many more products, but in reality there were only a select few that really sold well. Maybe an energy drink or energy bars sold extremely well, and most of the other products hardly sold at all. In reality they have a small selection also, and are appearing as if they superior to other businesses by offering a huge selection. Doesn't this in reality make it harder for the consumer to find your best products?

Why not just offer the best selling items?

I have been involved with an online business, which only offers 7 products. But even with only seven products the orders and recruits keep rolling in. They are great products in the health and wellness industry. I use them and recommend them and the business as well to all.

So when searching for a business opportunity, don’t overlook a business based simply on the fact that it offers a small selection of products. You may be passing up the opportunity you’ve been searching for.
