How many opportunities to expose people to your business do you miss everyday? Do the people you come in contact with regularly or randomly in your daily routine know about your business? If not, you're missing MANY golden opportunities to "fill your pipeline".

Every successful business is familiar with the concept of "filling the pipeline". You should be familiar with it, too! It's an important practice in building any kind of successful business. "Filling the pipeline" means building as large a volume of potential customers as possible. Why? Because every business is a numbers business! The more people that know about your business the more successful your business is likely to be.

As you expose people to your business, they are entering your "pipeline". As you follow up with them or as their circumstances and needs change, they move through your "pipeline"; and many eventually pop out the other end as customers or as associates in your business.

Traditional businesses advertise to fill their "pipelines". You can advertise too but advertising is expensive, impersonal and not always as productive as you wish. Maximizing your everyday encounters is personal, inexpensive AND very productive! All it takes to maximize your everyday encounters to "fill your pipeline" is to start putting your business card in the hands of as many people as possible!

Just look at how easy it is to put your business card in the hands of the people you come in contact with on a daily basis:

Scenario #1: Someone you know.

(After your normal conversation). Oh, by the way, if you get a chance check out my new website! (Then hand them your business card).

Note: This approach can be added to the end of just about any type of conversation. This approach will often times pique the person's curiosity enough to ask about it, visit it, or both! Bingo! They're in your "pipeline"!!

Scenario #2: Someone you don't know. (Ex: someone in a check out line with you, someone waiting on you while shopping or eating etc.)

(After you thank them for their service). Oh, by the way I'm looking for some unbiased feedback on my new website. (Hand them your business card) If you get a chance and can take a look I'd appreciate it. There's a contact link on the site you can use to use to tell me what you think.

It doesn't take much imagination to visualize the

potential of these approaches to "filling your pipeline"! There are plenty of ways to expose masses of people to your business and there's a place for that in your business plan. Just be sure you're not missing the daily opportunities to expose people to your business.

Make it a practice to never leave home without a pocket-full or purse-full of your business cards and become proficient in tactfully handing them out during the course of you normal everyday activities. If you do, you'll have a "pipeline" that will propel your business to a level of success others will envy and you'll enjoy!
