With billions of websites around the world, about 16 million of them are ranked on Alexa.com, and I believe only the sites that are ranked in the top 500,000 are considered to be 'active'.
Many believe that starting their own business online is easy with literally billions of internet users out there. However, they don't realize how difficult it is to get their business exposed to those billions. I would consider one lucky if they were able to get their site exposed to 0.0001% of all internet users world wide.
People who are thinking of starting their own business on the internet think it's easy to make money, but it's not. You only see
websites that do...that's why you are there. Ones that make money are able to expose themselves to people like you and me so we go check them out. That doesn't mean one needs money to get exposed; there are numerous ways to advertise for free. The site you go to are where other people go to as well, and that's why the site is active. This may sound confusing, but it really isn't if you think about it.
