Are you frustrated with online dating because you can’t keep track of all the emails, pictures and other details? We simplify the process by keeping your online search organized and your computer files readily accessible! You’ll appreciate being able to relax and forget the paperwork so you can just enjoy online dating!

1. Visualize your computer as the most organized metal filing cabinet ever, with plenty of supplies, folders, label maker, etc.

2. Create a folder labeled something obvious like Online Dating or a bit more discreet like The Search.

3. Need help for creating a folder on your computer?

We’ve listed helpful instructions on CREATING FOLDERS and other helpful tips on our website.

4. Think of the folder you’ve named The Search (or whatever you’ve chosen) as the file cabinet where you’re going to store all aspects related to online dating – until you meet your mate, of course!

You’ll store emails and notes and pictures, etc.

Yes, it takes a little more time to be organized, but it makes the online dating process more manageable and thus more fun!

5. Now we need to create folders within The Search so all your emails, notes and pictures aren’t in one big jumble.

6. Create a folder called Pictures to store the digital photos that you like of yourself to post with your ad and additional photos to send as you correspond with potential mates.

7. Now you’ve got a system! Create a folder for each ad you place. Remember to name it simply, so there’s no confusion between the first ad you placed on Match.com and the second one you placed on eHarmony.

For example, start with the dating site name and the date you placed your ad. So you’ll have a folder called MATCH100905 and eHARMONY010106.

Hopefully your search to find your mate online will be short and sweet. Meanwhile, keeping your online search organized allows you to concentrate on having fun on your dates!

Authors Karin Anderson and Beth Roberts share these and other tips that they used to meet their husbands online, in their book, “FINDING YOUR MATE ONLINE: NO FEAR, NO EMBARRASSMENT, JUST LOVE!”

Karin Anderson, a successful, Hollywood Script Coordinator, credits meeting the man of her dreams to the list she created describing what she wanted in a mate. This quirky list included a desire to meet a man who grew up with sisters – John has two – and a man who loves to read – John visits bookstores around the world for his job as a music Tour Manager. Karin’s wish list developed into the ABOUT HIM list that she encourages all readers to fill out to meet the mate of their dreams.

Beth Roberts, an Executive Vice President at NBC Universal was, like many women, mortified at the thought of posting an ad and spent years as an online dating voyeur. Having analyzed hundreds of ads by the time she posted her own at age 40, Beth created an honest and revealing statement about herself, and the idea for the list, ABOUT THE ADS, was born. Beth met with 5 men, all of them classic “great guys.” The fifth man, Warren, is now her husband.
