Politics article : Supreme Court of the United States of America; The Ultimate Pendulum

It seems the Supreme Court is like a pendulum. Some believe the Supreme Court should not be a political event the way it is today, but that is the way it currently is. It would be nice if no one ever tried to stack the Supreme Court, but since it appears to have always been done in this fashion; well now the pendulum will now swing back again. Many just hope this nominee has his third grade report card ready, because you know they will ask for that too? Isn’t the entire nomination process more like a circus event just made for prime time media? Promoting scare tactics and mass media hysteria of what could happen if this person does or does not get nominated?

Why is it that political opponents use the blocking of a Supreme Court Nominee as a tool of political leverage, rather than deciding the nomination based on the ability and sound mind of the individual?

Why is it that American sit by their television sets and get sucked into the rhetoric of debate of whether the individual once hired a domestic maid or failed to declare an item on their 1961 tax return or said something in a personal letter to a friend in jest back in 1972? Why do we allow politicians to parade around and grandstand while they themselves are deciding whether or not to vote for or against a candidate? Do we allow jurists to do this, after all the nominee is basically on trial during the entire process trying to prove the he or she did not kick their dog. Aren’t you a little tired of the shenanigans in D.C. with regards to the nomination and appointment of our Supreme Court Justices? Think on it.
