Science article : What if there Were a Living Planet?

What if there was a planet out there, which was really alive? Some say our own Earth is alive in an non-organic way as the plate tectonics renew themselves and we spin in perpetual motion around the sun. But what if a planet had organic microbes, which ate all the elements of the planet? What if you had a huge planet like this and an organic life form like a blob, mold or fungus took over the surface? We might never see it because well, it would not reflect at all, actually collect light, you could not see it, yet it has gravity and effects things. You might eventually figure out it existed. That is if in fact it were really huge, as it would pull on other planets.

It might even pull in asteroids and the microbes would actually eat them, because the blob would want all the minerals too. Before you condemn such a potential eventuality, think of all the microbes we have on Earth that eat things like stainless

steal, plutonium, iron and solid metals? Eventually these microbes would have their own eco-system and eat each others waste and come to an equilibrium and well to eat everything inorganic until the whole planet was actually, literally an organic planet which kept eating everything and yes it would be alive, but not alive like our planet, the entire planet would become organic and the waste would be eaten by other bacteria, the whole damn thing would be its own eco system.

Now then once you start this, how do you stop it? It just keeps growing, evolving changing its niche to what is left or what comes in. Sure you can call me Issac "Lance" Asimov? But think on this because all is possible and considering Drake’s Equation and the number of planets out there it would seem it is not only possible, but highly probable indeed?
