How many of you feel 'stuck' in a job that doesn't excite or inspire you? Are you staying put because of security and comfort? Do you dread the thought of being there 5 years from now? If this sounds familiar then it might be time to expand your thinking. You can either continue your life "as is" or choose to take control of your life and ultimate happiness. If you begin this process mapping out a specific plan, you will feel more comfortable embarking on this journey.

You need to spend some time detailing what your passions are, what a realistic goal would be and how you are going to get there. Instead of assuming the task ahead is too difficult, break it down into manageable steps. What are your strengths? What would your ideal position look like? What resources do you need to tap into to give you all the tools you need to make a decision and move forward? All you need to do is set aside some uninterrupted time to put your thoughts on paper and begin the process. Life is too short to go through the motions for the sake of "getting through" another day. Why not wake up excited about the day that lies before you? Everything is possible if you give yourself the opportunity and support to break through your fears and do what you were meant to do.

ACTION STEPS FOR THE WEEK:

1. Past and present

What experiences from the past made you feel the most alive? Review your past jobs and life experiences so you can begin to map out your future. Write down everything you gained from past jobs, all of your strengths. What tools can you bring with you to your next opportunity.

2. Expand your thinking

Part of this process is about opening your mind to all the possibilities. Don't hold back. What would you love to do? What gets you excited just thinking about it? Create a visual "collage" of what an ideal job would look like? What would you be doing? Who would you surround yourself by? Have fun with this. You can't create something that isn't even a thought yet.

3. Be realistic

This is not about quitting your job today and embarking on your passions. You need to plan for your future, take the necessary steps to get there. Do you need a financial safety net before you move forward? Do you need to discuss your options with family members that it will affect? Be smart about how to go down this path. This week write down what you would need to do to move forward.

Have a great week!
