It's the season of change. Do you want proof that positive change can be inspiring? Remember Winter? It's right around the corner. It's exciting because everything looks different. It changes the way we see our world.

How about making this winter a season of change for you? A change to new fresh thoughts, new ways of making your life work, new visions of the future, new ways to deal with problems. Remember the saying. " Each day is a new life to a wise person." It was Mahatma Gandhi who said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

Wayne, a coaching client of ours, had a fear of public speaking. He had all the classic symptoms: sweaty palms, dry mouth, shallow breathing, and he spoke very softly. We suggested that he make one change. We said, "Wayne, pretend you have a dial on the side of your head. Just before you speak to a group or to another person, mentally turn up the volume control. Simply talk louder with more forcefulness." This is what happened. The sound of Wayne's voice drowned out his fear. He became more forceful and effective in all areas of his life. It changed his life for the better. A small change; a huge result.

Your goals no longer inspire you? Change them now. You are unable to communicate with your teenager? Change your approach now. You weigh more than it says on your driver's license? Change your eating habits and your relationship with food now. Your career is no longer fulfilling? Change the way you look at your job or change jobs. You want to stop smoking? Change what you do with the cigarette. Don't put it in your mouth anymore. You don't need a magical formula. All you need is you.

It's your life and you have the power to change it and make it exactly the way you want it to be. Is it easy? Once you actually make the decision to change it's easy, it's exciting, it's exhilarating. But, it takes courage to make that decision. Of course you can do it. It's winter and the season of change. Don't let it slip away from you. You can do it!

"One new perception, one fresh thought, one act of surrender, one change of heart, one leap of faith, can change your life forever." -- Deepak Chopra--
