Many underachievers I’ve met have a tendency to perceive each new day as a seemingly inescapable extension of the one before. They’ll routinely use yesterday’s mediocrity as the reference point from which they consider today’s “inevitable” performance and results. And in this way, their past and future essentially become one and the same -- they’ll expect the same, they’ll look for the same, they’ll embrace the same thoughts and ideas, and they’ll resign to accept the same low impact results -- day after day!

This is why, for many, an “Oh well, here we go again” feeling emerges at the start of each day — and their experiences become similar and routine, and the response of the world to them becomes similar and predictable; nothing really significant or encouraging ever seems to enrich their plight. Indeed, an almost robotic monotony ensues -- and continues to characterize their life experience. They then come to perceive life (and themselves) in a very limited, unexciting way; complaining, frustration or hopelessness invariably follow!

This type of world results from their non-involvement in taking measures to impact success factors which would compel them to create what they’d really like. They tend to look at the world - and their potential - and feel only limited accomplishment is possible for them. Why is this belief so prevalent? Because they’ve never taken actions to either challenge these beliefs or redirect their futile expectancy into channels which would inspire them, and incite demonstrable life advancements!

Even though this “surrender to sameness” may not afflict you to the same degree, if it even occupies a small part in your mentality you’re resigning to limits which are not only delusive and enslaving -- they more so reflect unchallenged habit rather than irrefutable truth. You can grow, advance and succeed just as the champions of life you admire have. You can claim levels of success and accomplishment considerably beyond any you’ve ever conceived!

How can I so bluntly say you can progress and develop dramatically beyond the status quo you’ve perhaps maintained for so long? How? Because there’s a blatant quality every champion I’ve consulted elicits, a quality which acts as a catalyst compelling the confidence levels, performance levels, and overall results which makes them champions!

And this quality - albeit unused and underdeveloped within you - once engaged, can trigger masterful advances for you just as it has for them. What is this factor?

To answer this question, let’s contrast the states of mind of two distinctly different personality types. And let’s see if you recognize this success inducing quality. First, let’s look at someone who experiences considerably less from her life than she’d like. And let’s see if there’s something about her which results in - and reinforces - her situation.

At 7:30 a.m. the alarm goes off, and Chris, floundering around to shut it off, winds up knocking it off its stand. With a half dazed sigh she thinks, “Ah shit, gotta get up; Gee I’d like to sleep for two more hours. Well, gotta go to work to pay my bills; what the hell.” And with that she arises and sits at the edge of her bed pondering her day.

She thinks “I hope Lauren Nelson is sick today, that way I won’t have to take her crap.” “Maybe the boss will be in a good mood today and will discuss the raise she’s been promising me for the last 6 months.” “Damn. I wish she’d also give me my Christmas bonus now, the bills are piling up.” “Ya’ know--God damn it, how come nothing I ever do comes out the way I want it!”

And with that, a laborious effort to arise is generated, and all the while during her shower she thinks, “I wish I were still sleeping -- Man, it’s the same old shit!”

As she walks out the door, she thinks to herself, “Oh well, here we go again!”

As she drives to work, her inner and outer communication reflect her overall life perception: “Hey you idiot, put your blinker on before you turn.” “There’s too many damn people on the road!” “Look at that guy in the new Benz, I wonder what bank he robbed to get that car.” “I just know I’m gonna wind up driving around in circles trying to find a parking space at work!”

At work her experiences are surprisingly similar to her mental ideas and perceptions upon awakening. And around lunch time she reinforces to her office friends. “See, what the hell, no matter what you do it’s always the same!”

They all agree, then, reluctantly go back to their seemingly “inescapable” routines, knowing full well it’s just gonna be more of the same!

After work at the gym, her workout takes on the appearance of an inconsistent, sluggish, uninspired extension of performance the way it’s “always” been for her (exactly as her expectation had positioned it). And on the way home, she can’t figure out what it is that “keeps” her from reaching the same levels of physical development, and financial prominence she sees others have achieved.

“Ah well,” she sighs, “maybe tomorrow will be different.” Different indeed; no doubt it will continue to be more of the same.

Let’s compare the experience of Chris with someone for whom life always works - the success, the winner - - the radiantly happy, accomplished personality who others label as having the “Midas Touch”. And let’s see if there’s something about her which compels life to work for her the way it does…

It’s 7:30 a.m. and as the alarm sounds, Denise gingerly turns it off. And, as she progresses toward a full state of conscious awareness, she senses an onrush of power, confidence, radiance and positive expectancy surging through her.

This energy literally floods her as she becomes fully aware, and the idea spontaneously comes to her, “Alright…another day; another opportunity to kick ass and take myself even farther!”

And so, with this idea swirling around her head as the positive energy she feels continues to pulse through her, she savors this internal state momentarily by mentally experiencing all the good she expects she’ll encounter, and will create this day…

From the way she’ll impact the meetings she’ll be in and the people she’ll have contact with, to the way others will eagerly respond to her ideas and suggestions, to the ways she’ll advance projects and deals she’s involved with, to the way new ideas and solutions will come to her and be applied to foster greater success and improvement — to the way everything about her and connected to her will run smoothly and efficiently and naturally result in the impact she desires and the personal gains she knows she deserves -- she mentally embraces and lives the reality of all this good she perceives as her destiny.

And as these vivid success impressions come to an end she thinks “Yeah, let’s start cranking now!” And with that, she hops out of bed, energized and vibrant.

She sings while she showers, and dresses with a gleam in her eyes and excitement in her heart, complimenting herself on how good she looks. She drives to work eagerly and surely -- knowing absolutely that what she envisioned before arising will characterize her day.

At the office smoothness, efficiency, growth and progress are all reflected in everything she does. And if there’s a problem or unexpected occurrence, she takes it in stride, staying poised and invincibly positive. Others say about her “No matter what seems to happen, she always creates the results that she believes she can!”

After work at the gym, she can almost feel her muscles growing strong and shapely as she walks through the doors. And with eager, compelling drive, she takes herself smoothly and progressively to the level of performance and dynamic physical appearance her morning idealization embodied.

On the way home she thinks, “Man, I had a great day today. And tomorrow I’m going even higher!”

An idealist scenario you might say; think about the people you know, and no doubt you’ll recognize someone who possesses the same qualities as our “Midas Touch” winner.

Now, from reading the scenarios of Denise and Chris, what do you see as the major difference between them? Is it Genetics? Diet? Drugs? Luck? Absolutely not. It’s blatantly obvious that their state of mind upon awakening - and its related components of expectancy and conviction - are responsible for setting the tone of their day.

Look how each thinks and feels because of thinking in the manner they do. And look how the lives of each unfold regularly because of the ideas each encompasses.

With every successful person I’ve worked with, from high powered business executives, to high profile players in every professional sport, I always see this positive, success expectant mental state generated upon awakening.

It’s as if they nourish their minds with ideals of greatness upon awakening, feeding their brains impressions depicting the best! It’s as if they’re generating deliberate positive mental demands, forging a blueprint for action which directs their day. And more than just seeing these success ideals, they instinctively embrace them as an expectation/action foundation—a foundation which then governs all their thoughts and behaviors throughout their day.

We can call this A.M. positive imaginative feast the MENTAL BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS. CAUSE AND EFFECT -- LIFE REFLECTS YOUR IDEALS

We live in a cause/effect universe (thought being the cause and life conditions being the effects of our thinking). Through a Law of Attraction, like forces which harmonize with your thinking are naturally drawn to you. And if you don’t act in a manner which employs this law to promote your Good (success, advancement, achievement) you essentially concede to the notion of “sameness”, and the apparent inescapability of routine your life currently embodies.

And so, if you’re dissatisfied or frustrated with what you experience on your day to day basis - from the way life treats you, to the way you perform - you must start “commanding the reigns”, purposefully channeling your creative power to compel different results.

If those naturally prone to succeed instinctively employ a pre-day strategy which floods them with expectancy - and compels actions of excellence - what would happen if you began to feed upon ideas encompassing this propensity? What would happen if instead of consuming the mental “Junk Food” you perhaps regularly ingest, you too began regularly eating the Mental Breakfast Of Champions? YOU WILL BECOME WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS EMBRACE AS REAL

Life responds to your thinking. Your thoughts literally become your life condition, from your financial situation to your level of performance and accomplishment. If you keep thinking the way you always have, remaining at the effect and passive, life can only move through you as hopeful, wishful, routine passivity -- More Of The Same!

To break the stagnancy of sameness and enjoy new experiences, you must inject new causes into your mental framework representing personally tailored desires and specific creative direction. You must begin regularly giving life an explicit new plan of action to flow through.

There is no limit to your experiencing Goodness in your life, no limit to your capacity for personal achievement. You can be what you want to be, have what you want to have, and do what you want to do, through directing the compelling power of your own thought.

A major part of transcending the “norm” is taking initiative to align yourself with enriching, success promoting possibilities. Knowing and accepting that Goodness, and more of life’s richness exists for you is the first step. Next, you must unchain the floodgates of your full mental power through success impact imaging, and subconsciously embrace ideals which incite actions toward this advancement.

So you experience just how dramatic a difference “ingesting” success compelling ideals makes, apply the following strategy before you arise each morning. It will result in you fueling actions which naturally incite increase, and it will nourish your mental framework with ideals which change your entire concept of who you are, and what is truly possible…for you!

[Please read through the following in its entirety, then apply exactly as outlined.] THE MENTAL BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS PROCESS

Upon awakening in the morning, before you get out of bed, first establish the predominant mood you want to experience throughout the day. For you is it confidence, determination, power, decisiveness, aggressiveness, vibrant energy?

After you’ve made your choice, let your eyelids close and begin dwelling upon exactly what this quality represents to you. Perhaps you’ll recall a memory of a specific time or incident where this quality prevailed within you. Perhaps you’ll imagine someone you know who possesses and expresses this quality in exactly the way you want to. Perhaps just dwelling upon the idea of the quality will begin to conjure related sensations within you.

However you choose to identify exactly what your desired quality means to you, as you begin to sense the energy connected with it flowing through you, purposefully magnify this sensation to a level where it’s surging through you twice as powerfully as it was when you initially began to feel it.

To help instigate this amplification process:

• Think the exact thoughts you think when you feel this sensation.

• Say what you say to yourself when you feel this sensation.

• Physically sense, in every body part, exactly what you do when you feel this sensation.

• Put the look on your face that is the exact facial expression you project when you experience this sensation.

• Breathe exactly the way you do when you feel this sensation.

And as you enact the preceding, pinch your right thumb and forefinger together. And then, through adjusting the pressure of your finger pinch, take this internal sensation (your desired quality) to a level where it surges twice as powerfully as it did before!

During this procession, intensify the related sensory accompaniments (thoughts, physical sensations, feelings, breathing rate) while adjusting the pressure of your finger pinch. And as you do this, let this quality build, feel it amplify; encourage its intensification, and it will magnify.

Next, when you get the feeling that the energy of your desired quality is pulsing twice as powerfully through you, keeping your thumb and forefinger tightly pinched, mentally project yourself as this embodiment of confidence and energy into performing and interacting within the scope of your day -- your opportunity to create outcomes.

Now you’re not just letting “routine” continue, you’re literally pre- programming success outcomes -- establishing new sets of actions, expectations, and possibilities; you’re purposefully initiating the creative process of change. And so, graphically experience how you as this energized sensation arises from bed, becoming aware of what you’d think, feel, expect, anticipate, and naturally strive toward. See yourself showering, and then dressing as a full, free expression of this magnified, desired quality.

Experience what the look upon your face is, what your body posture is, what the quality of energy which animates and inspires you is. F-e-e-l a radiant enthusiasm flowing through you, and tendencies toward anger, boredom, frustration and resentment replaced with a real and genuine excitement for life, knowing you can think with power and create the experience of joy, satisfaction, and success - exactly the way you want it… for yourself!

Next, envision how you’d drive to work as this sensation; specifically what you would be thinking, imaging, feeling and preparing for? Sense a deep and pervasive onrush of cheerfulness as you consider all the good which lies before and awaits you to claim it. And know that because you feel the richness of your desired quality to such a strong and magnified degree, automatically you’ll do, say, and act differently, in a manner commanding the responsiveness which channels and structures life exactly as you want it to be.

Experience how you speak on the phone as this vibrant enticing feeling; what words do you use, what feelings do you generate, what types of ideas do you generate, what attitudes do you project, what is the interaction between you and the person you’re speaking with? Let yourself revel in the other person’s responsiveness to you as this bold, energized, take charge personality!

Continue to mentally envision and picture every aspect of your day naturally unfolding - as you know it would - because you are this magnified desired quality. And experience your dynamic personal initiative leading to your smoothly, efficiently, and successfully handling everything you attempt and are engaged in.

If you have meetings scheduled, how do you as this vibrant creative force speak, gesture, act, respond, relate information and facts, handle questions and objections? What’s the mood you project and what is your level of confidence? How do others react and respond to you as this expression of radiant energy?

If you’re someone striving to “break out of a rut”, mentally experience exactly what you feel breaking out means. How would you as this life compelling feeling take initiative, speak up, generate actions, express power, pursue outcomes or do anything necessary or desired, in the manner which absolutely would make the difference? And what would the difference (new results) then be for you?

If you exercise or workout after your workday, how would you enter your gym, warm up, and engage your entire workout? How would you feel during each set, what would you do, how would you do it, and what would be the results you - as this positive dynamic feeling - would invariably experience?

Create all these detailed scenarios first in mind, and you’ve taken the important first step toward them becoming facts of your life. So f-e-e-l your power and your initiative generating noticeable impact in your life, your workout, and in life around you. Imaginatively be the full unbridled representation of this magnificent desired quality, acting and performing exactly as if this is the only way you know how to be!

Experience yourself doing everything you do in that particular way which communicates you are a take charge, creative, extraordinarily positive initiator. And revel in your capacity to think, feel, and believe in this manner, which both takes control of the empire of your mind, and naturally promotes an enriching, fulfilling destiny.

After you’ve sensory pre-programmed your day as this positive personality, momentarily let yourself savor the richness of your life in this dimension. Then, s-l-o-w-l-y unpinch your fingers, let your eyelids open, inhale, stretch, and start your day -- choosing to act exclusively as if you are this personality force in everything you do.

During the day, at any point during your day, if you ever feel old tendencies or old "status-quo” thoughts emerging within you, spontaneously pinch your thumb and forefinger together - igniting your magnitude desired quality - and allow its energy to supplant the negative and then direct your subsequent thoughts and action. The more you employ this process, the more effective, powerful, and life advancing it becomes for you.

I recommend you perform this MENTAL BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS process every day upon awakening. The entire process should take 6-10 total minutes. You can think of it as your mental peak performance “breakfast”, for it enables you to subconsciously ingest the finest, most nourishing success inducing ingredients. And, like the euphemism “A good breakfast is necessary to get you going,” a good mental breakfast is equally, if not more important. Bon Appetite!
