We are as cool as the breeze, as sensitive as a water bubble and as soft as the grace of the Lord. We are thousands in variety, color and fragrance which are tender physically and also emotionally. We are called by different names and each kind has its own fame. Yet we are identified by one single word called-‘Flowers.’ When you think of us, you are reminded of Beauty and Love.

The buzzing bees sojourn miles together to have our glimpse and be in love with us. They are so romantic when they approach us buzzing-Honey, honey. They approach us not only to satisfy their pangs of love but hunger too with the sweet honey we produce. The birds above envy the responsive and hush-hush romance of the bees secreting in to our lives. Our soft petals then fold at a snail's pace after letting the bees inside. We unfold only after our beloved ones are done filling not their stomachs alone with our honey but their hearts too with our honey-like love. They then bid us good-bye temporarily only to return to their love land.

Beside these bustling bees, there are other kinds of beings who love us for their own reasons. They are no other than ‘human beings’ who wait to squeeze our necks so tenderly only to separate us from our parents, kith and kin. Do they ever realize we have life with in us? They sell our lives for some form of energy called ‘Money’ which is the root cause of all misery and war in the world. In order to make their beloveds’ ‘Days of Birth’ worthy and fragranced, they tie our feet with a pitiless rope and give us away to them. Many of our kith and kin are given away on 14th of February. Will some one tell our wondering minds what magic that Day brings to the whole of humanity?

Before they marry, the human beings need us to convey their love. We do not raise our voice though we have the ability to convey our message but the humanity has tongues and the capability to be aloud. Then why cannot they speak out their love instead of withering our lives by separating us from our parents and gifting us to their beloved on all the occasions?

We are unsure of our span of life. We transform from the stage of buds in to flowers only to see the world. We drench in the love of the morning dew and blossom to the fullest only after having a glimpse at our life-giver which is the ‘Sun.’ We feel happy when we look at the human beings who smile at us and cajole us with their soothing hands. For loving female beings, we pour our rosy color on to their lips; for male beings, we pour our fragranced love in to their hearts. When they are thus united, who will resist themselves from being smitten by their rare beauty? Our lives are only to beautify their souls and intensify their love.

We love our necks to be squeezed only to form as a garland with invisible thread called ‘Love’ and offer ourselves as one at the feet of the Lord. As the bright hours pass by, we meditate in golden silence and then wither away on the earth which forms the very basis of our lives and we bow down to the Lord who made our beauty a cause to create true Love in the beings around us.

“For bees, we flowers are the manufacturers of Honey; for humanity, we are the initiators of Love. For Divinity, our lives are the festoons at His feet.”- Sharmila Sanka

About the Author

With pride that I have been blessed with a human form, I always craved to grab any opportunity in order to utilize this human birth to the fullest and at last I found the answer to my craving mind and it was no other than ‘Spirituality.’

My little heart panged for the desire to quench my thirst of ‘releasing the heaviness’ which resided inside of it since years. It hungered after the soul within asking to reveal more of life – Materialistic and Spiritual in the form of Articles and Quotations which had the sole purpose of sharing it with other human beings not for name or fame but to tame this little mind towards the higher goal of ‘Global Peace’ on this earth plane.
