It has been said that a single idea could be dangerous making the man with the idea a dangerous man. I would say that dangerous is the man who is obsessed with the idea.
The Jews considered the apostle Paul such a man and the Romans changed the guards of his cell every two hours less they be converted by him.
Allow me to use three verses from the 26th chapter of the book of Acts.
On our first verse, Paul speaking of the early Christians said, "In my obsession against them, I even went to foreign cities to persecute them." (Verse 11 NIV)
Paul is a man obsessed by his goal. He was before his conversion. He was more after his conversion. Only obsessed people leave permanent mark in history.
On our second verse, Festus shouted, "You are out of your mind, Paul!" (Verse 24 NIV)
You got it -- a person who thinks like the rest is ordinary and insignificant. Loneliness is not uncommon in the path to success for only few can appreciate the creative mind.
On our last verse, Paul in reply to King Agrippa said, "Short time or long -- I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains." (Verse 29 NIV)
Paul, irregardless of the time element involved, wants his goal accomplished. Time is insignificant in relation to the fulfillment of his goal.
Success can not be denied to those who dedicated a lifetime for it.
Success can not be delayed for those who are obsessed of it.
Success will not remain distant to those who are willing to lose everything they've got to have it.
