I've found that a struggle with procrastination often has to do with the issue of control.

But sometimes it's useful to go with the flow. This is done by simply "prescribing the symptom," that is, procrastinating about procrastination.

How to procrastinate about procrastination

The next time you find yourself about to procrastinate, decide to put procrastinating off till another time!

Deciding to do things right away makes us generally more inclined to take action and accomplish difficult or bothersome tasks. That then frees us up to do more of the things we want to do.

Write a note to yourself saying, "Do it now," and put it where you'll see it often, such as on your mirror or above your desk.

While meeting this objective will take some discipline, remember that "the pain of discipline is always less than the pain

of regret."

Another simple trick is, when you have a deadline, just move it forward a week. That way, you'll have it done on time, and you'll get to sit back and relax while the procrastinators are frantically rushing around.

The trap of procrastination is easy to fall into. So try these techniques to get out of the trap and move on.

I've got to go now, I need to take care of something I've been putting off!
