Six secrets of writing a Book Review

Arya Borkar (Bookworm Reviews
)

A book review is not merely a book report or a summary of the contents; rather it must be include critical analysis and a evaluation of the quality, the meaning and the significance of the creation itself. There is no right way to write a book review, that’s because book reviews are highly personal and reflect the opinions of the reviewer. There are many sites that you can refer to like Bookworm Reviews
.

Here are a few guidelines as to how to go about writing a good review of a book:

• The key, to writing any review for that matter, is to read the contents of the matter to be reviewed thoroughly. Read not only the preface, about the author section, the theme but also try to understand the message of the cover.
• Incorporate the major events of the

plot because this is what most of the readers expect from you. A few key phrases could also be mentioned
• Now, get to the heart of the review and that is your analysis of its content. Write about how well the book has achieved its goal, what possibilities are suggested by the book, what the book has left out, how the book compares to others on the subject and what specific points are not convincing.
• While writing this remember not to confuse your views with that of the author.
• End with a solid conclusion that summarizes all the issues raised and contains a concise comment on the work.
• Most important of all, be sure to proofread it carefully for errors and typos.

Arya has been a keen reader since she was just 10. She writes book reviews in her spare time. She is currently working on the site Bookworm Reviews
