The idea that decisions are vital to our success is based on two presuppositions. First, that all is not decided; that what we do or don’t do does make a difference; a belief that our future is flexible, and to decide and act is to actually change how things will be.

Secondly, that the Universe is logical; that decisions mould reality because dominoes fall a certain way and, if I choose to push a particular one over, then the consequences are – by and large – predictable… This is from my book ‘Decisions of Daring Achievers’ if you would like to read more go to http://sysm.com.au/Products.ews?&Catagory=Book or just look at www.sysm.com.au

If either of these concepts is false, the wisdom and the power of personal decision-making is pure mirage. If everything is predestined, then whatever we decide and do was going to happen anyway. When you are going to hang, you won't drown.

On the other hand, if life is totally serendipitous, with no consistency, truth, rhythm or reliable pattern, then one can never say for sure that what we believe or do, how we act or react, has any influence on the journey we experience.

Chapters cover;
Pessimism of the intellect optimism of the will, the habit of habit, on momentum, the second mouse gets the cheese, uncertain? not sure? decision gone away, my legs hurt, I can see clearly now, the inside of out...
