The figure of people using mobile phones is increasing at a rapid pace. Some time back mobile phones were seen with only a certain section of society, but today the mobiles have become affordable among the large mass of people. As a result, daily new models of mobile phones are hitting the market.
Most people get fascinated with the latest and advanced version of new mobiles and dispose off their old mobile for the new one. Their old phones are either retired to shelves and drawers or are resold for little value. But many people would be unaware of the fact your old mobile phone can actually do some benefit to the environment.
The number of retired or unused mobiles keeps growing each year, causing an escalating damage to the environment. The mobile phone produces hazardous electronic waste that harms the environment. Certain mobile phones have mechanism, which requires expert treatment to diminish their effect on environment.
Mobiles and their accessories restrain the concentrations of heavy and toxic metals like lead, cadmium, mercury, nickel, zinc, manganese, arsenic, lithium, beryllium, antimony and copper. These metals are considered to be non-biodegradable and assemble into fatty issues to produce more toxic elements.

If any of theses metal leaks in the environment, they may pollute the soil and water. These metals further builds in the soil and pierce into the food chain and may result in causing health problems. These chemicals can lead to developmental and reproductive problems, damage the nervous system and can even result in cancer and genetic impacts.
For instance, Cadmium is believed to be the 7th most hazardous element known to us. It is carcinogenic and highly toxic in nature and can be very dangerous to humans and animals if ingested.
The best way to avoid the damage caused by these hazardous substances is to give your used mobile phones to the organizations that recycle it. There are certain organizations that deal in recycling of the used mobiles to avoid the risk of damage that can be caused to our environment. Throwing away your used mobile can cause long-term pollution leading to the deterioration of environment.
Recycling of used mobile phones is certainly more sensible and sorted out alternative. Besides doing a favor to the environment, it will also fetch you some money by selling your Used Mobile Phone for cash to the organizations that would recycle it.
