Bag size

It is said you should carry handbag which is proportionate to your size. If you are tall and thin then big handbags and shoulder handbags will suit you well. Conversely, if you are small in size you should carry a small handbag.

The rule of thumb is that you should pick the shape which is in contrast to the body shape. That means if you are tall and thin , you can pick round hand bags. If you are short and on the plumb side, pick tall or elongated handbag.

Traditionally handbags should match the colour of your shoes. And the last resort is to wear the black handbag if you don't have a bag to match your shoes. Now the rule of the game has changed. There is no need to match your colour of the shoes or even your attire too. The traditional colours were black blue and brown. Nowadays yellow orange and green are also the in colour.

Look for a handbag which is light in weight. I understand canvas is a good choice as it is lighter than leather.

Look for a handbag which will help you to organize your stuff. There should be compartments and pockets and pouches to hold stuff like your coins, keys and cell phone

You don't have to bow in to your peer pressure and get fake designer handbag. They can be easily spotted and worse still, it's not worth the money spent. A clutch bag is highly popular now but be careful though. You may misplace it or accidentally leave it behind you. You may be a sitting target for a snatch theft . To make things easier for you, consider getting a clutch bag with a leather and chain strap.. If you decide not to wear it, you can always slip the strap into the clutch bag itself.
