Hotels and Motels
As a major vacation destination the North Carolina southern Appalachians have a plethora of hotel and motel rooms to choose from, you'll have no trouble finding exactly what you're looking for.

Several hotels offer shuttle service to and from the airport and most all offer free guest parking although some parking deck access . Several hotels offer free breakfast. Often this is a continental breakfast or just coffee and donuts.
Some hotels may have minimum age restrictions or requirements. and can offer traditional country side charm along with modern amenities such as private porches, hot tubs, and gas fireplaces.
Many B&Bs in the southern mountains have a timeless quality and all have a story to tell. Just ask your hosts. You will find that they can be your guide not only about local lore but they are a great source for planning a daytrip giving you a relaxed and personalized touch that will make a great story.
Room rates run about the same as those at chain motels however, mountain B&B lodging is usually away from town,
Cabin rentals
Take some time off on the side porch of a comfortable cabin as you watch a Blue Ridge sunrise.

Mountain cabins are a great way to spend time in the mountains. Rental cabins are there for your vacation comfort and are always located close to activities. Cabins are a good idea when you take into account the money you’ll save by cooking your own meals, bringing your own entertainment such as movies or video games even sharing the cost of gas by carpooling to and from activities.
