What Amenities Do Your Guests Expect?
Amenities Checklist for the “Must Haves” and “Property Perks”
It is the little perks and extras that sets a rental home apart from
all the others and often factors in the decision of the renter when it
comes to choosing a rental home for the vacation. Do you know which
amenities to offer so that you can ensure that it is your property that gets
chosen and not your neighbors? Well, don’t fret; here is a little
checklist of all the amenities to mull about when you are building the
perks into your vacation rental property. Some of the perks in the list are
very basic and essential whereas some of the others will add that
‘wow’ factor that will keep the guests coming back.
Kitchen/Dining Area Musts
- Make sure that there are a lot of dishes and silverware available,
so that your renters do not have to do the dishes more than once a
day.
- Coffee maker – the coffee makers with the auto brew options are the
best.
- You would require a table that can sit the occupants of your rental
home, if this is difficult to do, then get a folding table with extra
chairs so that additional eating space, when required, can be easily
arranged.
Perks That Pop
- It is always a good idea to consider a coffee grinder as well as an
espresso/cappuccino machine.
- An icemaker in the door of the refrigerator as well as a grill top
on the stove and other similar stainless steel appliances.
- High-end countertops as well as a center island with electricity
and water.
Living Room Musts
- Comfortable seating is a must so make sure that there is enough
seating room for all the occupants of the home as well as additional space
for company.
- Entertainment should be catered to by way of TV, some basic cable
as well as a VCR/DVD player. The TV should be at least 27’’ wide so that
it can be seen from anywhere in the room. Movies should be available
in plenty so that the renters can watch any at their leisure.
- On account of ‘bad weather’ days it would be a good idea to stock
the rooms with some board games as well as cards.
Perks That Pop
- Big screen HDTV – the perk that pops!
- Premium cable or satellite dish is always sure to impress the
renters.
- Play station or Xbox is sure to please both
the dads as well as the
kids, so be sure to provide one of them with the popular games.
- A good stereo system, multi CD changer as well as the availability
of a variety of music is always bound to make an impact. Also an Ipod
docking system would be great as well.
- A fireplace makes curling up on the couch seem quite cozy, in case
your place lacks one, there are freestanding ones which are both
beautiful and easy to install.
Bedroom Musts
- The bedding should be top of the line with each bed containing at
least two sets of sheets, pillows with pillow covers, mattress pads and
extra blankets. You should use a 400 thread count for the master
bedroom, at least and provide for extra pillows.
- Side tables with reachable reading lamps and alarm clocks should be
placed by the bed.
Perks That Pop
- King sized beds make it possible for your renters to sleep like
kings.
- Down featherbeds, comforters and pillows make it possible for the
renters to sleep comfortably.
- Silk flowers in pretty vases as well as other similar arrangements
imparts a bit of class to each and every single bedroom.
Bathroom Must Haves
- Towels should be of the best quality. As each person needs on an
average about two each for bath towels as well as hand towels, make it
four for the washcloths per person.
- Provide amenities that are often forgotten by the renters such as
toothbrushes, razors, hair dyes, dental floss and soaps. It is not a
required that you have to provide them for the entire duration of the
renters stay, a small supply should be sufficient.
- t aid kit, you never know when it would come in handy.
Perks That Pop
- The master bedroom equipped with a whirlpool tub.
- A steam shower or sauna.
Backyard/Patio Must Haves
- Outdoor furniture
- BBQ grill
Perks That Pop
- Hot tub
- Swimming pool
Other Must Haves
- Washer/dryer
- Iron and ironing board
- Telephone with a landline connection as well as a local phone
book.
Perks That Pop
- Air conditioning is essential so as to meet the summer woes.
- Baby needs – A portable crib as well as a high chair so as to be
prepared in case the renters bring a baby along.
- Recreation – For recreational purposes, pool table, darts, ping
pong, tennis rackets, golf clubs. Etc
- Surf board, canoe, kayak, and/or beach supplies for outdoor
activities.
Your property is almost like the renters second home as well as your
income source. So, perk it up for better prosperity.
