If you'd like to take your copywriting and sales skills to the
"next level" -- no matter how experienced (or inexperienced)
you are now -- and do it without having to read any books,
newsletters or information products...or having to spend
even one single penny...then this article could very well
change your life as you know it.
Here's why.
As you may or may not know, whenever you give something
away -- whether it's money, time, compassion, friendship,
etc -- it will many times come back to you in
multiples. No
matter what you give away you'll almost always get
something back in return. It may not be money. It may not
be fame. It may not be glory. Who knows what it will be?
But you will receive something. I truly believe that's the way
God created the universe.
Who else believes this?
You might be surprised.
For example, world-famous author and
businessman, Robert Kiyosaki, in his best-selling
book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" says this about what
"giving" can do for you:
"If I could leave one single idea with you, it
is this idea. Whenever you feel 'short' or in 'need' of
something, give what you want first and it will come back in
buckets. That is true for money, a smile, love,
friendship." (page 166)
World-class copywriter and direct marketing genius,
Dan Kennedy, in his book, “No B.S. Business
Success” says this about giving away money:
“I’m here to tell you that giving away money
this way is a fast path to wealth. It energizes the
subconscious mind with a wealth and success
consciousness unlike anything you’ve ever
experienced.” (page 109)
Success Coach and world-renown author,Tony
Robbins, writes this in his book, “Unlimited
Power”:
“No amount of money can buy what you get
when you give of yourself. No amount of financial planning
could do more for you than if you give 10 percent [of your
income] away.” (page 380)
Advertising giant and co-founder of the monster ad agency
BBDO, Bruce Barton, was also a devout
believer in giving of himself:
“Get money -- but stop once in a while to
figure what it is costing you to get it. No man gets it without
giving something in return. The wise man gives his labor
and ability. The fool gives his life."
In the Holy Bible, God is even more blunt
about this:
“He which soweth sparingly shall reap also
sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also
bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his
heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God
loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace
abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in
all things, may abound to every good work" (2
Corinthians 9:6-8).
Interesting, isn't it? And you know what?
The same goes for copywriting.
As a copywriter, no matter how good or bad you are now,
giving away your talents, energies and efforts --
without any expectation of receiving something in return --
can double, triple...even quadruple your abilities...and do so
very quickly.
This is no joke. I've done this myself and seen it first hand.
If you don't believe me, then here's a way to test this out for
yourself: Find an organization you support (especially one
you're passionate about, such as a charity,
non-profit business or political cause) and offer to write a
free ad for them.
No money. No favors. No ulterior motives. Do it for no other
reason than to advance the cause.
You do this and I can virtually guarantee your
copywriting abilities -- no matter how advanced or feeble
they are now -- are going to explode through the roof.
How can I be so sure about this?
Because when you write for something you truly
believe in,
you'll tap into a part of yourself that demands you do
better than you've ever done before. It'll push and stretch
your abilities. You may even get a little beat up and bloodied
from the experience. And that's okay. Just do it. It'll be the
fastest, cheapest...most spiritually
gratifying...copywriting "lesson" you ever see.
